Current Vacancies

  • School Nurse

    We are seeking to appoint a School Nurse to provide a comprehensive, confidential and accurate medical health service to support our growing School.  This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate as they help build a department which offers a high quality of nursing and first-aid care to our pupils and all members of our school community.

    The role will be working alongside our current School Nurse on a part-time basis, (term-time only plus 10 days), 2.5 days per week, starting ASAP on a fixed term contract (with the possibility of becoming permanent) for one year.

    We are looking for someone who is preferably RGN/RSCN qualified but will consider other nursing qualifications.  Someone with excellent communication skills and a good knowledge and understanding of IT processes is essential, along with someone who is a team player and able to work effectively in a busy environment.  Experience of working in an educational environment is preferable, but not essential.

    Interviews are expected to be held on 4th October 2024 and successful candidates will be contacted with invitations.

  • PA to the Head and Administrator, Prep School

    The Purpose of the Role

    To provide a comprehensive, confidential and accurate administrative service to support the Prep School and its staff including administrative support to the Head of the Prep School and Deputy Head of the Prep School. To understand and ensure full implementation of school policies and procedures in particular relating to Child Protection, Health, Safety and Welfare, Safer Recruitment, Admissions and Security. Establish priorities, work independently and without direct supervision on all routine matters.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Educated to A-level or above
    • Proven experience in a front-line customer service/administrative/ secretarial role
    • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and databases
    • An understanding of the independent school sector
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of ISAMS (School Information Management System) and previous experience of working within a school office would be advantageous
    • Good organisational and time management skills and able to use their own initiative
    • Flexible, adaptable and understand what makes a good team
    • Confidence to remind staff and parents of deadlines and handle sensitive situations tactfully and confidentially

Establish priorities, work independently and without direct supervision on all routine matters.

    • Proven experience as a School Administrator
    • Knowledge of administrative processes of schools
    • Ability to use computers (e.g. MS Office) and education management systems

  • Expedition Assistant/Activity Instructor

    The Purpose of the Role

    At Radnor House Sevenoaks, Outdoor Education is a significant part of the curriculum and extra-curricular offering within the school.  Each week, students from nursery to Year 3 take part in our Forest School, those in Year 4 to 8 study Outdoor Education.  From 2024, students in Year 9 may opt to study ‘Learning in the Outdoors’, a qualification certified by Agored Cymru.  The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is run from Year 9 upwards, at which all levels yields a large percentage of students within the school who take up the challenge.  All in all, the courses provide students with the opportunities for camps, expeditions and navigation days. 

    The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Outdoor Education, to support the running of these additional opportunities and deliver high quality training and activities for the students.  

    Skills and Qualifications

    Qualifications with NGB qualifications in walking are required (minimum Lowland Leader) and a current relevant First Aid certificate.  It is preferable that candidates are part of the DBS update service, but not essential.  Courses in DofE training will also be required (Leader/Supervisor, Assessor) and can be facilitated by Radnor House if not already completed. 

    We are always looking to expand the Outdoor Education provision at Radnor, and we also welcome candidates who hold NGB qualifications in climbing, paddle sports and bushcraft casual instructor roles with the view of further development in these areas. 

    An appreciation for the outdoors, a dedication for development, and the character to immerse within our busy and vibrant school setting is vital.
