Matilda

Mrs Barradell, Director of Performing Arts Writes:

Our final full-scale production of the year, the fourth of the year sandwiched in between MADE evenings, Christmas performances, various events on and off site and what a final production to end the year on!

Mrs Day along with Mr Isom have worked incredibly hard to bring Mrs Day’s imagination to life and the Year 5 and Year 6 students have gone on this journey with professionalism, creativity and high standards instilled in them via the rehearsal process. The two weeks of workshops to deepen and extend their understanding has come through in the intensive Dress and technical rehearsals. We are so incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and to perform to full audiences in their dress rehearsal and opening night was a real boost for them too. The beaming smiles from all of them during the curtain call is a highlight for everyone to see!

Huge thanks to the wider Prep and Senior staff who have supported the production and to the parents for supporting and understanding the effort that goes in to produce a production to this standard.

Dr Margrett, Head of Prep writes: writes:

It is quite amazing how much the children have learnt and the level at which they were able to perform.  I was so immensely proud of them all, and it was wonderful to witness the pride they had in themselves.  The hard work that goes on behind the scenes to equip the children to perform at that level should not be underestimated.  I am absolutely indebted to the whole performing arts team and the Year 5 & 6 teachers for their immense commitment to ensuring that Matilda was such a roaring success.
