Swimming
Swimming is one of the school’s focus sports and is taught
from age 2 to 18.
The swimming programme is led by our Director of Swimming, Miss Jessica Fullalove, who has considerable experience working with non-swimmers and beginners to elite level swimmers who have competed internationally. She has worked in a wide variety of settings including swimming clubs, schools, leisure centres, learn-to-swim academies and high-performance centres.
Ms Fullalove is supported by a strong team of specialist swimming coaches, swimming teachers and members of the sports department. Swimming is delivered in our excellent 25 metre swimming pool with its overhanging viewing gallery.
All pupils up until Year 8 have one swimming lesson per week during which they build their confidence in the water, through to stroke technique and water skills.
More able swimmers join the swim squads which train and compete before and after school as part of the school’s excellent co-curricular programme.
The school has strong relationships with all local clubs to ensure a smooth pathway into competitive swimming for those who wish to develop their swimming further and we currently have a good cross-section of regional swimmers training in our squads.
