Our Community

At Radnor House Sevenoaks, we foster a culture of hard work and kindness, celebrating the diversity, equality, and inclusivity of our school community.

Our school life is enriched by our core values: Excellence, Perseverance, Courage and Respect.

We pride ourselves on our strong sense of community, built on robust connections between our staff and families. We warmly welcome individuals from all around the world into the Radnor community and encourage close relationships between pupils, parents, and our dedicated staff. This collaboration shapes our commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for each individual.

Head of Maths, Jason Charles, discusses what he loves about the Radnor community, highlighting the strong connections between parents, students, and staff:

Radnor’s values-led approach to education provides clear guidelines for all members of our community to understand the principles by which we measure success, including:

  • A strong academic CV
  • Confidence and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good judgement and decision-making

Understanding Radnor’s place in the local community and the wider world is also hugely important to us. Our active parents’ association, Friends of Radnor House Sevenoaks, aims to bring families together to create a stronger whole school community through social events while supporting local and national charities.

The Round Square philosophy is built around six themes identified by the German educational philosopher Kurt Hahn, known as the IDEALS: Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service. These themes enable member schools to share a commitment to character education and experiential learning.

Founded in 1956, Round Square empowers pupils to make positive and meaningful contributions to local, national, and global societies, enriching their lives and those of others. At Radnor House, we strive to instil in our students the understanding that, regardless of their future careers, they can—and should—make a positive difference in the world by embracing the spirit of the Round Square IDEALS.

Today’s students are the next generation of business, political, and community leaders. It is our responsibility to shape how they understand, prepare for, and respond to the world’s challenges both now and in the future. The importance of character education and values-based learning should not be underestimated. At Radnor House Sevenoaks, understanding one’s place in the world and intrinsic value in this global arena is at the forefront of our educational philosophy.
