Scholarships and Bursaries

Celebrating Every Individual

At Radnor House Sevenoaks, we are committed to nurturing the unique potential of each student. Our wide array of opportunities encourages students to discover hidden talents and achieve new levels of excellence in every subject.

Scholarships at Radnor House

Radnor House awards scholarships to recognise and support students who demonstrate exceptional passion and talent in their chosen fields. Our scholars not only excel academically or artistically but also serve as role models, inspiring others with their perseverance and commitment to personal excellence.

Each year, we offer a limited number of scholarships to students who show the potential to make a significant impact on school life.

Pravit (Year 7) shares how his scholarship from Radnor House has shaped his experience and passions for acting so far:

Scholarship Details

Scholarships typically cover between 5% and 10% of the annual tuition fee. In exceptional cases, an Outstanding Scholarship may be awarded, offering a greater discount at the Head's discretion. Additionally, means-tested bursaries of up to 50% of tuition fees are available for Senior School pupils who have been awarded a scholarship and need further financial assistance.

Our Scholarship Programme runs alongside the means-tested bursary programme, ensuring that those who need additional financial support to attend Radnor House can apply for a bursary after receiving a scholarship.

Academic Scholarships

Academic scholarships are available to students who demonstrate a deep curiosity about the world and a proven record of excellence across various subjects. These scholarships are open to both internal and external candidates.

Sixth Form Academic Scholarships

For internal Year 11 pupils, Sixth Form Academic Scholarships are based on GCSE Mock Examinations, November assessments, and overall performance in Behaviours for Learning. External candidates are considered based on their GCSE results. Exceptional GCSE performance may result in an Outstanding Academic Scholarship, providing at least 20% off tuition fees.

Art, Drama, Music, and Sport Scholarships

Students with exceptional talent in Art, Drama, Music, or Sport are invited to apply for scholarships in these areas. Scholars are expected to make significant progress in their field and, for Art, Drama, and Music scholars, to pursue these subjects at GCSE level.

All-Rounder (Values) Scholarship

The Values Scholarship is awarded to students who embody Radnor House’s core values—Respect, Courage, Excellence, and Perseverance—across a range of disciplines. This scholarship is ideal for those with a broad spectrum of skills and interests who may not fit neatly into a single category.

Exhibitions

Exhibitions are awarded to students who have performed admirably during the assessment process but did not quite qualify for a scholarship. These awards provide a one-off fee remission as a recognition of the student's efforts. However, exhibitions do not include entry into the scholarship programme. It’s important to note that only scholars are eligible to apply for a means-tested bursary.

Bursaries

The Bursary fund at Radnor House is generously supported by the Radnor Charitable Trust.

As a separate entity from Radnor House School, the Radnor Charitable Trust is a registered charity (No. 1145134) dedicated to advancing public education by providing financial assistance for students to study at Radnor House Sevenoaks School. To be eligible for a bursary, applicants must meet the school’s minimum entry criteria, which include passing the entrance exam, performing well in the interview, and obtaining a strong reference from their current school.

Bursaries are awarded for the entire duration of a pupil’s education at Radnor House, but they are reviewed annually. Each year, bursary recipients' parental financial circumstances are reassessed, and the award amount may be adjusted accordingly. Current bursary holders will receive the necessary means-testing forms at the beginning of August each year, which must be completed and returned by the end of the month.
