Senior Admissions (Year 7 - Year 11)
Year 7 is the primary entry point for the Senior School, with a limited number of places available for Year 9 entry.
We offer deferred places into Year 9 for pupils in Year 6 and Year 7. We also consider applications for other year groups as spaces become available.
The Admissions Process
Visit Us |
---|
We warmly invite you to visit our vibrant and friendly school, where you can experience firsthand our exceptional facilities and meet the dedicated staff who will care for your child. |
Register |
It’s never too early to apply, and we recommend early registration due to limited availability. |
Assess |
After registration, your child will be invited to complete an assessment, which includes a CAT4 test, a creative writing piece, and an interview. Following the assessment, places will be formally offered. Additionally, we have a fantastic scholarship programme, and your child may choose to apply for a scholarship if they are interested. |
Offer |
Following a successful taster day, we aim to make an offer within a week. Once an offer has been made, a completed acceptance form and a £1,500 deposit will be required to secure your child’s place. This deposit will be refunded when your child leaves the school. |
Assessments
The entrance process at Radnor House Sevenoaks involves a combination of academic testing, a written English paper, an interview, and a reference from your child's current school.
For late applicants, additional entrance test sittings will be arranged if places are still available.
Academic Testing (CAT4) |
---|
The CAT4 cognitive ability test is administered on a computer and evaluates vocabulary, mathematics, perceptual speed, accuracy, and non-verbal reasoning. There are no practice papers available for these tests. |
English Writing Test |
This 30-minute test assesses the child's ability to write meaningfully and fluently in prose. To prepare, children should focus on independent problem-solving and reading to expand their vocabulary and comprehension skills. If your child requires extra time for the exam, please indicate this in your application to ensure accommodation within the entrance exam timetable. |
Interview |
The interview, lasting approximately 10 minutes, allows us to explore your child's interests both inside and outside of school. It includes a brief reading passage and a discussion on how they embody the school’s values of excellence, respect, courage, and perseverance. |
Assessment Breakdown |
The academic component (CAT4 and English test) constitutes 50% of the final decision, while the interview and reference collectively account for the remaining 50%. Radnor House Sevenoaks is committed to understanding each child holistically to determine how we can best support their growth. |
