An Outstanding Provision of Sport

Sport plays an integral part of life at Radnor House Prep, with a comprehensive weekly program of swimming, PE, games lessons, and fixtures for all pupils.

Our goal is to instil a lifelong love and appreciation of sport and physical activity through a broad and exciting curriculum.

From an early age, we foster determination, confidence, passion, respect, and teamwork through sport. Our gender-equal approach ensures that all boys and girls have the same opportunities.

The sports curriculum is delivered by specialist teachers and overseen by our Director of Sport, Mr. Tom Butt, who supervises our children's sporting progression across the entire school. To lead our focus sports, we have appointed elite specialist athletes:

Miss Jess Fullalove

Director of Swimming

Mr. Scott Nurse

Director of Football

Mr. Ben Alberry

Director of Hockey

Mrs. Susie Wilson-Rowe

Director of Cricket

These directors lead specific sport coaching programs to ensure pupils receive the highest levels of coaching and development opportunities. Additionally, numerous sports clubs are offered before, during, and after school, complemented by a busy weekly fixture program in which every child participates from Years 3-6, reflecting our sport-for-all approach.

Our school hosts the area ISA junior cross country and other events annually, with our top athletes competing in various ISA and IAPS tournaments throughout the year.

In Years 3-6, all pupils have one swimming lesson, one PE lesson, and two games lessons per week. The games program follows a season of approximately eight weeks per sport. Pre-season training takes place weekly in the preceding season, providing enhanced skill and tactical awareness ahead of fixtures, giving pupils confidence in match situations.

To support high performance, all A team players are expected to attend pre-season training sessions, although these sessions are open to all pupils who wish to develop their skills and tactics.

Through significant investment in sports facilities and staffing, Radnor Prep ensures that our pupils have the best opportunities to excel in sports and develop a passion for physical activity that lasts a lifetime.
