Safeguarding

We recognise that keeping our students safe and promoting their wellbeing is of paramount importance.

Radnor House Sevenoaks is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect our school community to share this commitment.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined in the DfE’s Keeping Children Safe in Education (Sept 2024) as providing help and support to meet the needs of children as soon as problems emerge; protecting children from maltreatment; preventing impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development; ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes. Every pupil should feel safe and protected from any form of abuse: any kind of neglect, non-accidental physical injury, sexual exploitation or emotional ill-treatment. It is important for children to receive the right help at the right time to address safeguarding risks, prevent issues escalating and to promote children’s welfare.

The school Safeguarding team works closely with teachers, parents and multi-agency services to ensure that all our students are healthy and protected and pupils supported with issues as diverse as, and not limited to: mental health, sexual harassment, anti-bullying, online safety, radicalisation, healthy eating.
