Year 7 end their first full week with an unforgettable camp adventure

This week, our Year 7 students embarked on an unforgettable overnight camp experience, filled with adventure, teamwork, and personal growth. The Year 7 Camp was an exciting opportunity for students to get to know each other while also challenging themselves. Students spent the first day at Blackland Farm outdoor centre, where groups rotated through a variety of activities led by the onsite professional instructors. They abseiled, scaled climbing walls, and balanced themselves as high as possible on the stacking crates activity. Teamwork and resilience were evident, as were the new friendships being formed.

The 50 students then returned to Radnor to put up tents on the beautiful top lawn, where they camped overnight. Dinner was held in the school restaurant, followed by games and a campfire, which also involved enjoying toasted marshmallows.

After breakfast on the second day, students took part in many activities around the stunning Radnor site. These included working together on map reading and hiking, learning about fire safety and other camp-related skills, and participating in environmental tasks entitled “leave no trace.” With “free time” interspersed throughout, students developed maturity and continued to forge both new and old friendships.

The camp culminated with students hosting a BBQ for their parents before they headed home.
