Radnor House Runners Shine at ISA National Cross-Country Finals
On Sunday 9 March, seven of our top cross-country athletes travelled to Mallory Park Circuit in Kirkby Mallory, Leicestershire, to compete in the ISA National Cross-Country Finals, proudly representing the London South region. Having secured their places at the regional qualifiers in February, our runners faced a challenging course featuring undulating hills, treacherous muddy sections, and fierce competition, all under the backdrop of a glorious spring day.
The event began with the younger year groups, where some runners even lost shoes in the thick mud! In the Year 7 girls' race, Sophie F, Isabelle P, and Lauren C delivered strong performances, finishing 32nd, 38th, and 41st respectively in a highly competitive field of over 70 runners. In the Year 7 boys' category, Sam P and Luca W secured 42nd and 44th place finishes in a similarly packed race.
Moving up the age groups, Michael S placed 33rd in the Year 8/9 boys' race, holding his own in an incredibly fast-paced competition. The day concluded on a high with Tom A’s outstanding 13th place finish in the Year 10/11 boys' race, showcasing an inspiring sprint finish and exceptional determination.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our runners for their hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Representing both Radnor House Sevenoaks and ISA London South at a national level is a fantastic achievement, and we are incredibly proud of their performances.
It is a privilege to witness the continued growth and success of our talented cross-country athletes, and we look forward to seeing them reach even greater heights in the future!
