Bringing Winter to Life: Year 7 & 8 Present The Snow Queen

As the weather changed and the cold set in, Year 7 and Year 8 students embraced the wintry theme in the Senior School Hall with their highly anticipated Lower School Production of The Snow Queen. Featuring a talented cast of 30 students, this magical performance brought Hans Christian Andersen’s timeless tale to life, combining imaginative storytelling, captivating drama, and moments of theatrical wonder.

The whole-school technical theatre team worked tirelessly to create a stunning stage design that immersed the audience in the icy world of the Snow Queen. This year, contributions from Year 9 Arts Award students, who honed their skills in set, costume, and lighting design, added an extra layer of creativity to the production. Their collaboration across year groups and art forms not only enriched the show but also provided invaluable learning opportunities for both performers and designers.

The performances took place on Thursday and Friday in the Senior School Hall, marking the first lower school production in several years. The community came together to enjoy this glistening winter delight, and the hard work, magic, and creativity of the students made it a truly unforgettable show!
