Radnor House Welcomes New York School, Nightingale School, for a Day of Learning and Collaboration
Today, Radnor House had the pleasure of hosting students from Nightingale School in New York, a fellow member of the Round Square organisation. This visit celebrated the “International” pillar of the Round Square IDEALS framework, fostering global connections and a shared commitment to collaboration and learning.
The day began with a warm Meet & Greet session, where Year 10 students from Radnor House paired with their counterparts from Nightingale School. This friendly introduction set the tone for a day filled with meaningful interactions. Mr. Paton welcomed the visiting group, sharing words of encouragement and excitement for the activities ahead.
The first shared experience was an English lesson, where the Nightingale students joined their Radnor House peers. The collaborative classroom setting provided a platform to exchange ideas, offering fresh perspectives and insights into different educational approaches.
Later in the morning, students participated in a thought-provoking session led by Mr. Salvage, centered on the British Museum and its handling of historical artifacts. The lively debate encouraged critical thinking and respectful dialogue on the ethical and cultural considerations surrounding heritage conservation—a topic that resonated deeply with students from both schools.
After a hearty lunch, the group embarked on an Outdoor Education adventure in Westerham. Through engaging teamwork and problem-solving activities, the students had the chance to bond while exploring the historical significance of the picturesque surroundings.
The day concluded with heartfelt goodbyes as the Nightingale students departed for their next destination. This enriching exchange not only strengthened the connection between the two schools but also deepened students’ appreciation of international collaboration and shared values.
Radnor House looks forward to future opportunities to partner with Nightingale School and other Round Square institutions. Together, we continue to build bridges across cultures, inspiring global citizenship and mutual understanding.
