Celebrating Scholars at Radnor House
This week at Radnor House, we have been celebrating our scholars with special assemblies to recognise the achievements of those students who have been awarded scholarships this year.
Scholarships play a key role in our school community, enabling us to acknowledge the diverse talents of our students, whether they shine on the sports field, in the orchestra, or in the classroom. Through our broad range of scholarships and our newly revised scholarship programme, we aim to develop transferable skills that benefit all areas of learning, while also encouraging active engagement in the wider school community.
During the assemblies, we also took the opportunity to inspire all students to set themselves meaningful challenges for the year ahead. At this time of year, many of us make resolutions, yet statistics show that only 6% of people maintain these goals by the year’s end. Students were encouraged to create resolutions that are both realistic and achievable, helping them to grow and reach their full potential. These could include learning a new language, reading more widely, or engaging with the world beyond the classroom.
Our core value of perseverance was a key theme, with inspiring examples shared, such as Walt Disney and Colonel Sanders, to demonstrate the importance of determination and resilience. These stories served as a reminder of the value of hard work and the rewards of never giving up—important lessons for our scholars and the entire school community as we strive to make 2025 a year of growth and achievement.
We look forward to seeing the impact of these resolutions and celebrating the continued successes of all our students throughout the year.
