Science Week 2025 at Radnor House Sevenoaks: A Cosmic Adventure
Radnor House Sevenoaks recently embarked on a stellar journey during Science Week 2025, offering students an immersive exploration of the cosmos. The excitement began with the arrival of the world’s largest planetarium dome, transforming the school into a gateway to the stars.
Students were captivated by the ‘Astralis’ session, which traced the awe-inspiring life cycle of stars. From their birth in stellar nurseries to their dramatic transformations into supernovae or black holes, the session brought the universe to life with stunning visuals and an enthralling soundtrack. The experience illuminated complex astronomical concepts, making them both accessible and engaging.
The wonder continued with the ‘Once Upon the Big Bang Show,’ which transported students back to the very beginning of time and space. Through breathtaking 3D graphics, they explored the origins of the universe, uncovering the scientific theories and mathematical models that shape our understanding of the cosmos. The show provided a thought-provoking and immersive journey through the Big Bang and beyond.
Meanwhile over the past few weeks, our talented Year 7 students have been hard at work on a variety of science fair projects, showcasing their creativity and scientific prowess. On Tuesday they presented their work to their peers and others in the school, with exceptional entries receiving a science prize. This was a fantastic opportunity for Year 7 to demonstrate their oracy skills in a scientific setting and inspire their peers with innovative ideas.
Science Week 2025 at Radnor House Sevenoaks was a resounding success, sparking curiosity, deepening understanding, and inspiring a lasting appreciation for the wonders of the universe.
