Radnor House Prep School Launches the Radnor House Archway Curriculum
Yesterday, Radnor House Prep School proudly launched the new Radnor House Archway Curriculum, with a presentation led by Head of Prep School, Philippa Lang. The Archway Curriculum, unique to Radnor House, takes its name from the Prep School Archway. This symbolic archway represents both a journey of growth and the support it provides to what lies ahead—whether that be Senior School, university, or employment.
The curriculum is built around two key priorities for our students: their happiness and future employability. While it may seem early to discuss employability in young children, research shows a critical ‘window of opportunity’ for brain development between birth and eight years of age, tapering into the early teens. During these Prep School years, children’s minds are particularly receptive, and we see this as a vital period to help shape their habits of mind and character.
Archway is a collaboration between Radnor House and Round Square, incorporating the 6 IDEALS: Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service. By weaving these ideals into everyday learning, the curriculum fosters both academic success and strong character development.
After the presentation, parents visited classrooms, where tutors explained how the curriculum would be applied to their child's year group, offering an exciting glimpse into how Archway will shape their children’s education and character development. We are excited about the potential of this curriculum to make our children both happier and more employable in the future.
