AIM High: Inspiring Young Writers

This week, Radnor House Sevenoaks welcomed published author and professional storyteller Margaret Bateson-Hill for an inspiring creative writing workshop. Twenty-four Year 5 and 6 pupils from local schools; Ide Hill Primary, Four Elms Primary and St Thomas' Catholic Primary joined a group of our Radnor students to take part in this exciting AIM High event.

The young writers unleashed their imaginations by creating their own dragons, complete with detailed fact files and illustrations of their magical creatures. They then crafted poetry, writing from the perspective of their dragon in a piece titled “If I Were a Dragon Instead of Me.” The workshop culminated in the development of their own original stories, capturing the moment they first encountered their mythical beasts.

The day was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to explore their creativity, develop their writing skills, and be inspired by an accomplished author. A truly enriching experience for all involved!
