Radnor House Students Engage in Global Round Square Literature Event
On Wednesday, students from Years 8 and 9 had the exciting opportunity to connect with 177 students from Round Square schools worldwide for a thought-provoking discussion on justice, equality, diversity, and inclusion in literature. This global event fostered collaboration and cultural exchange, allowing students to share ideas on books that have shaped their understanding of diverse voices.
The session began with a discussion on impactful literature, with students reflecting on books such as Little Women and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. Radnor House students also introduced their own reading selections in preparation for the upcoming EDI book seminars, including Raz Beri by Matt Stephens and We Are All Made of Molecules by Susin Nielsen.
In smaller breakout groups, students explored an excerpt from Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred Taylor, engaging in meaningful conversations about diversity, tolerance, and respect. The discussions encouraged reflection on how literature can break down barriers and inspire positive change.
Our students represented Radnor House with enthusiasm and confidence, sharing their insights while engaging with peers from around the world. The event was a fantastic opportunity to develop global perspectives, enhance leadership skills, and celebrate the power of literature in shaping an inclusive future.
