A Parisian Adventure: Year 7 Students Discover the City of Light
Year 7 students embarked on a fantastic three-day adventure to Paris, beginning with a beautifully calm ferry crossing of the English Channel, where they enjoyed stunning early morning sea views from the upper decks. From Calais, the group headed to Paris by coach where they were met by an iconic ‘bateaux mouche’ for a cruise to see the renowned landmarks and historic architecture dotted along the banks of the River Seine.
After a restful night, the group headed to Disneyland Paris for an unforgettable time enjoying the thrilling rides and indulging in a bit of retail therapy. Students savoured delicious classic French cuisine including charcuterie, cheeses, and macarons and later in the evening, the excitement continued with a lively Disney character quiz, where friendly competition ran high, and winners walked away with mini prizes such as Paris-themed keyrings.
On the final day, the students experienced the heavy Parisian traffic known as the ‘circulation’ on their journey to the fascinating Rodin Museum, where they discovered the French artist’s world famous and lesser-known paintings and sculptures, including the famous bronze statue ‘The Thinker’. No trip to Paris would be complete without a memorable visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower, offering students unforgettable photo opportunities and marked the perfect ending to a truly wonderful weekend.
The students’ spirits remained high on the journey home, with the coach filled with laughter and endless singalongs to the catchy Junior Eurovision hit "Comme Ci, Comme Ça" by rising French star Titouan. Quel merveilleux voyage! Il restera dans nos souvenirs pour toujours...
