Radnor House Sevenoaks has been shortlisted for the Tes Awards 2025

We’re excited to share that Radnor House Sevenoaks has been shortlisted for the Tes Awards 2025 in the category of Excellence in Creative Arts.

Dubbed the "Oscars of education", the Tes Schools Awards celebrate the very best in UK education, spanning early years, primary and secondary schools across both the state and independent sectors. To be recognised among such incredible institutions is a huge honour, and we’re proud to be part of this year’s shortlist.

Our nomination celebrates the strength and innovation of our Creative Arts programme, particularly our pioneering work in Technical Theatre. This area has become a cornerstone of our Performing Arts offering, allowing students to explore stage management, lighting, set design, and sound.

We’ve gone beyond the classroom by employing an apprentice Creative Venues Technician, showing our commitment to giving students real-world experience and bridging the gap between education and the creative industries. It’s all part of our mission to equip our pupils with the skills, confidence, and creativity they need for the future.

Mr Paton shares:

“We are thrilled to be shortlisted for Excellence in Creative Arts in the Tes Awards 2025. Our motto is celebrating every individual, which means developing fantastic programmes in sports, creative arts, and other co-curricular activities alongside academic subjects to help children find their passion. Our Performing Arts Faculty’s vision, Performance for all, ensures inclusive opportunities for all students to participate in and enjoy performance beyond the stage.”

In recent years, we’ve seen our Creative Arts programme go from strength to strength. The increasing number of applicants for our Drama scholarships and the popularity of our school productions are a testament to the enthusiasm and talent of our students — and the dedicated staff supporting them.

Jon Severs, Editor of Tes Magazine, also shared his thoughts:

“We’ve seen some incredible entries in this year’s awards. The Tes Schools Awards are a highlight of the education calendar, and it’s vital we continue to shine a light on the fantastic work happening in schools across the UK.”

The winners will be announced in June, and we’re incredibly proud to be in the running. No matter the outcome, this recognition celebrates the passion, creativity, and teamwork that define our school community.
